I woke up January 1st of this year and stood on the scale. I weighed 337 pounds. I was taking medication for blood pressure, and I was going to see the doc every few months to get screened for diabetes. Couple that with my asthma, and I was in a bad place. I am 39 years old, married, with five kids. I knew I had to make a change if I wanted to see my kids grow up.
I was eating fast food almost every day; sometimes multiple times a day. Soda, candy, chips, you name it. The first thing I did is said goodbye to all that stuff. Fruits and vegetables became my diet, and now I crave those instead of cake and other things.
Second thing I did was get my ass moving. I started on the treadmill. Slowly. Walking every day. I knew that I needed something more, and my buddy recommended DDP Yoga. Being a WCW guy from way back, I was intrigued. Got the DVD’s and the app and started kicking my butt.
I set a goal of ten pounds. Start small. Lost that and set another goal of ten. I’ve met my ten pound goal almost 12 times now. I started out at 337 on January 1st, and now, on October 21st, I am at 219. I’ll be 40 years old next Saturday and I feel better than I have in my entire life.
I tell everyone that if I can do it, anyone can. You just have to be dedicated. In my book, dedication beats motivation. For years I wanted to be thinner, healthier, happier. I wanted THE change, but I wasn’t willing TO change. I finally got tired of being depressed and unhappy with my body. I got tired of feeling like my kids were going to grow up without a father. I know the emotional pain that people go through. I had a ‘Santa-esque’ physique for years. If I can do it, anyone can. Anyone.
I’m sending two pictures. One is me on November 26, 2016. The other is me on October 14, 2017. I’ll let you figure out which is which.
Thank you so much for your program. It has absolutely changed my life. Really, it has given me my life back. I’m in control again.
