I’m a guy who has been overweight for my whole adult life. Even during my childhood I was a chubby kid who always seemed to weigh a few more pounds than all the other kids. I was never the fattest but still considered to be overweight. In high school I wasn’t able to participate in football  or any other sports like I wanted to. I began to have knee problems that caused my kneecap to dislocate and pop back in which after a while caused a partial ACL tear. Anytime I suffered a dislocation of my knee cap it was extremely painful and kept me out from participating in high school sports. After high school I finally had surgery on both of my knees to address the issue but now each knee has 3 screws. Whenever I try to run or put a lot of pressure on my knees I feel pain, or as DDP would say, I feel the Bang!


After I recovered from my knee surgeries, I left my small town and moved to the Phoenix metro area in 2003. At the time of my move I was around 230 lbs. Between work and school I was not exercising  or eating right.  I ate fast food about 3-5 times a week maybe even more. When I had the opportunity to eat healthy at a restaurant or at home I wouldn’t really pick any healthy foods to eat. I was a young guy who moved to the big city and went out to party, drink, smoke and the whole nine yards that come with that lifestyle. Nothing I was doing was healthy during that time of my life. The years came and went and before I knew it I found myself weighing 370 lbs. I knew I had to do something soon. I had tried going to the gym and eat right in the past but I would give up and go back to my old habits. I would make excuses not to work out or eat right and would procrastinate on when I was going to get serious to get this part of my life fixed. I paid for a gym membership for about 8 years and only went to it a hand full of times.

Earlier this year I saw weight loss video of Arthur Boorman on You Tube. It was an inspiration and a reality check for me. I had to look in the mirror and say it’s time get serious and lose this weight, no more excuses. I purchased the DDP YOGA program and it was truly a godsend to me.
